Readying for a rigorous workout are members of the Zumba class of the Dancing Arts Club.   Zumba is a dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez during the 1990s.   Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo.  Squats and lunges are also included.  In one Zumba class, a person can burn between 500-1000 calories, depending on the energy put forth.

     Mornings:  Tuesday and Thursday 7:50 AM – 8:50 AM (September thru May)  (June thru August, class is from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM)

     Evenings:  Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (all year) (this evening class also includes “toning”, so bring your “sticks” if you have them)

     Sundays:  9:00 AM – 10:00 AM (all year)

Classes are ongoing and registration can be done before the class session.
